Laura apprenticed in construction management during her first year in construction.   Her first contract was a multiple award of Mountainview Middle School, Mabel Rush Elementary, Ewing Young Elementary.  Following her first year she was elected as a board member at Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and later Associated General Contractors (AGC).  Her work on those boards lead her to lobby on behalf of the construction industry and she successfully had four House Bills and two Senate Bills on the table for vote.

In 2021-2022 Laura was awarded an opportunity to plan a half-mile wide area of Memphis, Tennessee that is the subject of a $425-million grant application.  Laura's plan for the area hyper-focuses on child education, bonding of family, stress-less family life, small business creation, and celebrating the people of Memphis. The area includes a small dense park with an 80' x 100' outdoor skating rink for roller and ice skating, an amphitheater, adult workout areas near child play areas, outdoor music areas, batting cages, a shrunk soccer training area, statue water fountains, a street of child friendly entertainment. It also includes standalone small business units with live above units.  The plan addresses each area of problems in Memphis to create positive outcomes.

Laura's interest throughout her career has been to expand her experience in all areas of building and construction.
